Depression
Depression is something a lot of people experience but are unable to recognize it. It can be hard to figure out if you are just going through a rough patch, or whether you are truly depressed.
If you’ve been feeling chronic sadness and disinterest in the activities you otherwise enjoy, you lack confidence and constantly second guess yourself, you don’t believe you can do anything right and let opportunities slip away, you don’t ask for things that are important to you as you don’t believe you deserve them, you may be experiencing depression.

Here are some symptoms of depression:

When you’re feeling depressed, it can often seem like there’s no end in sight, and it can be difficult to imagine getting help for depression or feeling better. At its worst, you might feel like you’re staring into a dark hole, with no hint of light and no way out. Getting help for depression might feel impossible.

However, you don’t have to go through this alone, and you can feel better.

Although we at Atan Therapy do not have an instant magical cure for it, we can help ease and manage the symptoms of it. With therapy you can learn to build and lean on a support system while you learn how to respond to the feelings and circumstances that come with depression. If the therapist feels like you could benefit with medication along with therapy they may urge you to seek a psychiatric consultation.
